What Is Back Liposuction?

Depending on the patient’s anatomy, treatment may involve the upper back, lower back, or areas extending toward the waist and flanks.

Recovery After Back Liposuction

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness, temporary numbness, and drainage of tumescent fluid can occur during the early recovery period.

Light walking is generally encouraged during recovery. Strenuous exercise and heavy activity are restricted until appropriate based on healing.

When Will I See the Result?

Some improvement may be apparent relatively early, but swelling can temporarily obscure the final contour.

The back generally becomes more defined as swelling decreases over the following weeks and months. Final results should not be judged immediately after surgery.

Are Back Liposuction Results Permanent?

Fat cells removed through liposuction are permanently removed from the treated area.
